In this post, I attach a PDF of ChimeraX tutorial (~35 MB) which I made for a graduate course. The students do not have much experiences in macromolecular structural analysis. The tutorial aims to show them tools and a quick catch up knowing the GUI of ChimeraX.
For example, using 6UDQ structure, the structure can be displayed in multiple ways, including “default sphere”, “Atom with stick”, “cartoon”, “surface” or combined mode.





The provided tools to color surface by electrostatic potentials (left), B-factors (middle), and hydrophobicity are very convenient.



ChimeraX draws professional scientific pictures by choosing different lighting effects. I personally like the “flat” mode a lot.
