KP was invited to attend Taiwan-Japan biophysics meeting, part of the 57th annual meeting of the Biophysical Society of Japan last week and heard an exciting news from PDBj that they provide service of EMPIAR for Asian users.

It’s really a pain to download some EMPIAR datasets from EBI@UK as the internet speed is 150-300 KB/s and the frequent disconnections bother us.

Now we can download some public dataset for lab internal training or workshop from Osaka Japan. I just got a dataset (~500 GB) with average internet speed at 8.5 MB/s. Much better than directly downloading from EBI@UK.
